In the heart of Naples lies Rione Sanità, a district once known only for high crime, unemployment, and bloody camorra feuds that turned it into an isolated ghetto. Since the early 2000s, a unique process of urban and cultural regeneration has been underway. Led by a visionary new parish priest and a network of local associations, the community has built a maze of cooperatives that have transformed the very heart of the neighborhood. This documentary analyzes this successful “system” of development through the emotional voices and experiences of its protagonists, exploring whether this model of bottom-up change can be replicated in other marginalized contexts around the world.
