THE DIGITAL MERMAID: THE SOUND OF HOLOGRAMS

The Digital Mermaid: The Sound of Holograms captures the intricate conception and creation of an interactive holographic prototype: a digital siren performing classic Neapolitan songs in multilingual versions. Currently exhibited at the MANN (National Archaeological Museum of Naples) and supported by a mobile app, this project bridges the gap between the past and the future.

The film follows the multidisciplinary working group through every stage of development—from the initial iconographic sketches to high-tech body mastering and costume sculpture. It explores how traditional Neapolitan music, specifically masterpieces like Reginella and Malafemmena, can be reimagined through digital arrangements and translated into English and Chinese to achieve global reach. It is a story of myth, tech, and the timeless voice of the Mediterranean.
